Even though in one of the articles we read the teacher LouAnn was portrayed as the students savior. The person that wrote the article said that this movie made it seem like only a white person could help the students do something with their lives when really that wasn't the point of the movie. I think that anyone cam make a difference in someone life despite their ethnicity.

The teacher came into the movie caring about the students and how to get through to them. I like how the director uses close-ups on the students as they talk to the teacher about the poem. I think he does this to show the emotions of the students and how interested they are with the poems the teacher is reciting. The close-ups really showed how the students took an intrest in the poems they were reading. The lighting also contributed to these emotions. In the beginning of the movie the classroom was very dark and dull, but as the film went on, the room became brighter just like the students.

One of the things that i noticed throughout the movie was the use of lighting. For example, at the begining of the movie the kids are coming off the bus and it is dark gray and when the camera show the white kids in the good neighborhood getting off the the color is brigher and sunny. This show that the use of color is to show the good times and the bad imes and also how the characters feel or are enduring a tha point in time. The movie show that a person can come from a bad surrounding and background but still reach for the stars because it is possible. One part that i did not totally agree with was the fact that Louanne decided to give he students treats and bribe them to gett them to do what she wanted thm to do because i dont think in real life it is effect because the sudents need o want to learn for them because th knoeledge from what they put effort in knowing is the rue reward not treats. And i really did not like th way the movie ended because it gave us nothing like if i did not already see the movie i would not of known that she decided to stay. WHEE! the story was reeeeeeeaally long and i didn't enjoy that but the blue people were intoned with everything around them and the guys from earth said that their planet is rotting. if only we were able to be one with nature and not so polluting. did you know that human beings are one of the only creatures on earth that intentionally poison themselves? that is ugly PTTTTHH >:(

The movie was great, but something I didn `t understand was only the military and avatar specialist were on the planet. All of the other people must`ve been back on Earth. The trees were cool along with the animal(the dog like creatures). Overall it was an excellent movie even though it was extremely long.
